Dealing with Work-Induced Stress & Building Resiliency Each organization is a living organism, made up of individuals, whose health and happiness in the workplace directly contributes to the productivity and profitability of the entire organization. Extensive research has shown that exposure to excessive pressure and challenge in the workplace can be motivating. However, when pressure reaches a level where the individual feels they can no longer cope, it can lead to stress. Individuals working in the behavioral health field are particularly at risk to experiencing work- induced stress due to the nature of the work and being exposed to individuals who are suffering, on a daily basis. In addition to this, helping professionals are also at risk for experiencing *Vicarious Trauma and *Compassion Fatigue. Resiliency is a protective factor against stress, vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue.
* Compassion fatigue is secondary trauma experienced
by health care providers due to their helping role and interactions
with those who are traumatized. Aims of Program: To educate staff on stress, vicarious trauma/compassion fatigue and provide them with tools, practices and strategies to help prevent stress and burnout. To cultivate and promote a healthy work environment, which addresses the wellbeing of employees, leading to a stable workforce and reduction in staff turnover. Workshops and retreats are designed to specifically meet the needs and resources of your organization. Please contact Pasha to discuss the best program for your organization. |
